Occasional comment, news and reports from Moira Baptist
Soccer Camp 2025
Monday
The weather washed out the first evening.
Tuesday
After the disappointment of having to cancel last night, we were so encouraged to have 117 children join us! Many parents stayed to watch, the sun was shining and the children had a great night. Tim and Jennifer led the Bible teaching, clearly delivering the Gospel message to the children and parents who were listening.
Wednesday
Another great night at the park when127 children attended, all enjoying the football drills, Team Talk and matches. Timmy clearly taught the kids about who God is and His character. The children received a gift bag tonight containing a gospel of John and a book about the Bible.
Thursday
Again the weather forced a change of plans but thanks to the help of so many the church buildings were cleared to allow the event to be held indoors. The night ran very smoothly, with over 100 children in attendance and many parents too. We ran out of Bibles to give to the kids who requested them and so will follow up with them next week. Sharon shared the Gospel so clearly with the children and parents. We pray that the message won’t just resonate in the hearts of the children but that whole families might trust in Jesus as their Saviour.
The night finished with a BBQ which went down a treat! A massive thank you to our catering team for working away behind the scenes and pulling that off so seamlessly.
Sunday
Sunday morning brought the week of outreach to a conclusion as Philip Agnew from CEF used illustrations from the football VAR system to bring a clear gospel challenge to all present.
Thanks to the leaders, coaches and helpers along with all the kids and the parents that brought them. What a week; we battled with the weather and had to change a few plans but the Lord was in it all. The final whistle has blown on MBC Soccer Week 2025! But we know that God’s Word has been sown in many hearts and He will bring forth a harvest in His time.
Our Bible verse for the week
‘Jesus said to him, “I am the WAY, and the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me.’ John 24:6
