On 23rd March 2025 we enjoyed our annual soup lunch, supporting this year’s Sunday School project “What a di-llama – we need some bricks!” This is the 2025 Baptist Youth project supporting Baptist Missions in Peru and we are raising money to buy bricks for Peru to build Sunday School rooms.
It was great to hear the buzz of chatter after church as almost 200 people (young and older!) joined together for some fellowship around a bowl of soup and a hotdog, filling both the main and upper halls. The red and white balloons and tablecloths reminded us of the Peruvian flag, Paddington held tightly to his mini marmalades and there was a colourful table display of authentic Peruvian handmade crafts. We enjoyed a selection of delicious desserts.
It was a lovely afternoon and such an encouragement to the Sunday School team to have the support of our church family. A big thank you to all who came along and supported the soup lunch and to those who have contributed to our Sunday School project. The final total will be announced on Children’s Day, 25th May. No guinea pigs were eaten..
